We joined the project halfway through its construction, so in a way, this could also be considered a reconstruction of an unfinished building.

This is the increasingly popular, new typology of a holiday home—a house for rent. Its primary function is a new kind of instant hedonism. People relocate for an afternoon, a day, a weekend, or perhaps a week, and they try to quickly forget their everyday life and replace it with something different, preferably easier and more beautiful.

The space itself, along with some furniture, must provide the framework for this. The service here generally boils down to self-service. The host may greet you upon arrival and say goodbye when you leave.

If the environmental particle on which the new space is formed is generous from the start, it’s just a matter of properly harvesting its fruits.

The plot is located on the slopes of Fruška Gora, at the end of a street with weekend houses, right next to the main road Novi Sad–Inđija, at the highest point, Banstol. The orientation towards the completely open view of the ravine and meadows of Fruška Gora determined the concept. To achieve this, it was necessary to create a plateau with a pool and shared spaces in such a way that the richness of the location would be further emphasized and isolated in the observer’s eye. This spatial isolation is perhaps the most successful segment of the project. It was done by creating a fence whose fenestration serves to isolate, but not to enclose the space. In the end, it seems to us that the fence is the leitmotif of the entire project, rather than the buildings that were created.
